Dr. Katy Harris

Veterinarian

Dr. Katy Harris is a 2009 graduate of Purdue University’s College of Veterinary Medicine where she focused on small animals and exotics. She practiced veterinary medicine in Bloomington for five years until she felt led to make a difference in the Bloomfield community which she and her husband, Austin, have grown to love. After settling in Bloomfield, they began attending Tulip Church of God, which quickly became extended family to them. There she teaches Sunday School to the preschoolers, loving every minute of it and serves the church through their TWIGs (Tulip Women in God’s Service) group. Dr. Katy is a member of the AVMA (American Veterinary Medical Association) as well as the IVMA (Indiana Veterinary Medical Association). She has served on the IVMA Practice Task Force which serves Indiana veterinary practice owners and strives to help them in the daily ins and outs of practice ownership. Together, Katy and Austin have 3 beautiful children. Their oldest, Turner (2012) has grown up helping Dr. Katy at Heal and quickly grown to adore all animals. Their daughter, Myla (2017) has bought the love of their fur critters by sharing all her food. Selah (2023), the youngest is learning that animals are a normal part of everyday life in the Harris family. Foster animals are often frequenting their home, but a few have become foster fails. Merry (2014) is a German Shepherd mix that has been with them since 2020. Honey (2020) is a bull terrier mix that was dumped at the Harris homestead in 2022 when she was pregnant with 10 puppies. She quickly made herself at home. Fern and Ginger, of course, do what kitties do best – lounge in the sun and fend off rodents and bugs. They have been with the Harris family since they arrived in Bloomfield in 2009. Iro and Ash like causing trouble with resident wildlife. They were strays that have been dumped at their home over the years but weaseled their way into the family’s heart. Willow is the family’s favorite kitty. She was adopted as a kitten with a broken leg that Dr. Harris fixed. She never left! 🙂 The Harris family also has 2 corn snakes, Nelrasha and Casper, a milk snake, Rainbow Beauty, and several fish. These animals are more than just pets, but are a significant part of the Harris family, too. Dr. Harris and her Heal Pet Care team look forward to meeting you and your furry family members and find joy in keeping your fur family happy and healthy for the years to come.

Dr. Kami Graber

Relief Veterinarian

Hi, I’m Dr. Kami Graber. I grew up in Brown County, Indiana. I went to Purdue University Northwest on an athletic scholarship where I played basketball and soccer while pursuing my degree in biology. I decided I wanted to be a veterinarian late in my degree after getting a pet rabbit and seeing a vet for the first time. I did post-graduate research and coursework at PNW while working full-time in a veterinary clinic. I then went to Purdue University for vet school and graduated as a vet in 2023. In my free time I enjoy hiking, kayaking, traveling, playing sports, and spending time with family. I have two cats named Lemon and Kurama and a pittie mix named Ramen Noodles.
